How
does bixmail work?
It's very simple and fast:
You call our toll free number;
You identify yourself with speech recognition;
You tell bixmail to whom you wish to send your message (first
and last name of a contact in your bixmail contact book);
At the tone, you leave your message and hang up when you are
done;
Your message will immediately be sent to the addressee by email
in an attached mp3 file.

Who
is bixmail meant for?
Bixmail is meant for anyone and everyone. Bixmail’s main
goal is to offer those on the road and on-the-go a mobile way
to send e-mails.
The bixmail system can be used:
- to send an email safely, while driving.
- to send ideas and reminders to your own e-mail account.
- to send an e-mail when you’re not near a computer.
- to send an e-mail that would be better understood as a verbal
dictation, then as a written message.
- to send a vocal message without bothering anyone, no matter
how late (or early).
- to replace calling someone, in order to avoid having a lengthy
conversation.
- as a contingency plan when you know that the person you want
to reach is busy.

What
is the 'Caller ID Express Login' ?
When you call bixmail to send a message, you need to identify yourself;
You would normally be entering your password and saying your name
but with 'Caller Id Express Login' you will be automatically identified
and the welcome message will be something like this: 'Welcome John,
to whom do you want to send a bixmail?'. This allows every member
of the bixmail community to send emails even faster. The Caller
ID Express Login is available only when you're calling from your
mobile phone. To activate this function, go to 'My bixmail ', 'My
information' section and enter a cell phone number (make sure you
identify it as a cellular type). You also need to make sure that
your cell phone number is not confidential when you're making outbound
calls.
This feature is part of how bixmail has been custom built to
enable those on the road the opportunity to e-mail safely, hands
free and with eyes on the road.

Can we
use bixmail while driving a car?
Bixmail is certainly safer then typing an e-mail while operating a vehicle. When you use the "express login" option, bixmail can identify you as a user through your cell phone information. Add that to programming your 1-800 number in your speed dial, and you won't have to press a single button to send an e-mail!
We strongly suggest investing in a headset in order to insure safety behind the wheel. Please be prudent, and abide by your local road regulations regarding driving and cell phone use. With a head-set and pre-programmed phone numbers, you'll be on your way, car wise and contact wise!

I have
a Blackberry, why would I need bixmail?
A lot of Blackberry users enjoy bixmail for its speed and mobility.
With bixmail, you’re sending e-mails of 150 words a minute,
whereas with a mini-keyboard you’re typing at about 20 words
a minute. Since there’s e-mail access on a blackberry, it’s
a great way of sending yourself reminders and ideas when you don’t
have the time to type a lengthy message. Also, you can send bixmail
messages while driving or walking, without compromising your vision
and concentration. That’s true mobility! |
 |
How
can the addressee listen to his/her messages?
The recipient of a bixmail can listen to your message by playing
the audio file attached to the email(the audio file can be opened
by any application able to read wav or mp3 format audio files, such
as Windows Media Player). |
 |
Why wouldn’t I just
call the person directly?
That question can best be answered by another question: Why is e-mail
so popular? The answer is simple, in many cases sending an e-mail
is much more convenient than a phone call. Here are a few points
worth considering:
- It’s non-intrusive, you might not want to interrupt
or disturb the person.
- You simply want to inform someone, and don’t want any
feedback.
- You don’t have the time for impromptu questions or conversation.
- You can send a message at any time, day or night.
- You want to keep a copy of the message and its content.
- You can send a message to several people at once.
- When you receive a message, you can view it, forward it, and
archive it for future reference, easily.
- You can access your messages when most convenient for us.
- There are no long distance charges.
All of these reasons apply to e-mail and they also apply to bixmail!
What singles out bixmail is that you don’t need a PC. You
can be on the road, in the gym or about to fall asleep, and you
can send bixmail messages easily without delay, and with minimal
effort.

 |
Why
wouldn’t I just leave a message on their answering machine?
Voicemail is the result of a missed call. What if they’re
in the office or available? What if they have an assistant or
secretary? What if it’s the middle of the night and you
risk waking them up? What if you know they’ll answer?
Sometimes, all you want to do is leave a message.
|
 |
How
many contacts am I allowed?
You can store as many contacts as you wish. |
 |
How
can I import my contacts into bixmail?
You can now import your Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird contacts;
other software imports will be available soon.
To import your Outlook contacts into bixmail, go to "My bixmail,”
choose the "My contacts" section, click 'Import contacts'
and follow the instructions.
|
 |
Why
can’t I enter two contacts with the same name?
Bixmail uses voice recognition software to find the corresponding
name from your Contact List. This technology cannot—at this
time—differentiate between two of the same name. That’s
why, if two people share the same name, we suggest you use nick
names or their last name to avoid any complications with the service. |
 |
Is
there a limited number of messages that can be
sent?
The bixmail basic service, Rapido, is free and allows you to send
15 bluffmail messages per month. Subito and Presto plans allow you
to send a greater volume of messages during the same month. Please
consult the “Packages” section for more details. |
 |
How
is bixmail faster then my regular e-mail or my mobile
e-mail?
The answer comes from human experience, we talk faster then we type.
Check out the following statistics, people type (on average):
- 30-40 words per minute on a standard keyboard.
- 15-30 words per minute on a Blackberry or Palm style “thumb-pad”.
- 8 words per minute on a cell phone keypad.
They talk 125-150 words per minute!

 |
How
can I send a bixmail in carbon copy (cc)?

message during the same call, all you have to do is stay on the
line when you’re finished your message. After 2 seconds of

What
is the "One-Click SMS Reply" that is offered by bixmail?

our official launch onto the business market. |
 |
Why am I not receiving copies of my bixmail e-mails?
My contacts say they're not receiving my bixmail e-mails.
It’s very possible that the bixmail e-mail messages are having
trouble getting past your spam software. Make sure bixmail is on
you “friends” or “safe” list, this way it
wont have any trouble getting into your inbox.
Also, go back into “My bixmail” and make sure the
e-mail addresses you entered have been entered correctly.
